Dr. Huzella, a board-certified ophthalmologist, was born in Toronto, Canada to Hungarian immigrants. Growing up in the Buffalo NY area, she followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a medical doctor. Her mother, Emma I. Domoszlai, M.D., a family practitioner and genetic disease specialist, was her role model, working hard with great compassion for her patients. Dr. Huzella’s undergraduate training was in biology at Duke University where she graduated with honors. She was ranked as one of the top students in her medical school, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine. Services; preceptor (WVSOM) medical school, Board member Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (MSEPS), HMAA social committee and CBC-Chapter co-president. She works at Maryland Vision Institute/Vision Innovation Partners. She lives in Frederick, MD with her husband, Dr. Louis M. Huzella a veterinary pathologist at the NIH, offers private veterinary services, and is a retired Army helicopter test pilot. They raised a blended family of 5 children in Frederick, are avid volunteers in the community and strong supporters of Frederick Memorial Hospital. Dr. Huzella is a longtime volunteer with Eye Care America – an award-winning organization helping those in need receive quality eyecare.
