Dr. Geza Acs served as member of the Board of Directors in 2006-2008 and he is the Secretary of the HMAA since 2008. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Debrecen School of Medicine. He served as Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD and trained in Anatomic Pathology and Surgical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Acs served as Director of Gynecologic Pathology, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and member of the Abramson Cancer Center and the Center for Research on Reproduction and Women’s Health of the University of Pennsylvania. Subsequently, Dr. Acs was Associate Member at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Anatomic Pathology, Comprehensive Breast and Gynecologic Oncology Programs, and Associate Professor of Oncologic Sciences and Pathology and Cell Biology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa, FL. He joined Ruffolo Hooper & Associates in 2009 where he serves as Medical Director of Women’s Pathology Consultants. Dr. Acs also has an academic appointment at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, Tampa, FL as Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology. His research interests focus on the mechanisms of lymphatic tumor metastasis and histologic and molecular prognostic/predictive factors in breast cancer. Dr. Acs is on the Editorial Board of several pathology journals and has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.
