Andras Khoor, MD, is Consultant and Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic Florida (Jacksonville, Florida) and Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Khoor received his medical degree from Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest, Hungary.After some initial training in pathology and pediatrics at Semmelweis Medical University, he researched lung development with Dr. Mildred Stahlman at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. This was followed by residency in pathology at Vanderbilt University and a fellowship in pulmonary pathology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.Dr. Khoor’s research interests include multiple areas of pulmonary pathology with a special focus on the expression of airway epithelial cell markers in pulmonary neoplasms. He has authored more than 50 publications on pulmonary pathology and is a section editor for the Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Khoor has been a member of the Hungarian Medical Association of America since 1997 and served as President of the HMAA from 2016 to 2020.
